Sophia Günst (*1994, Kiel, Germany) is active in a wide range of styles as a musician and composer. She took her first cello lessons at the age of six. This was followed by piano, saxophone, and singing lessons. She played in various orchestras, the Chiffren Ensemble for New Music, and other award-winning ensembles and Bigbands, covering a range of styles from Classical to Contemporary Music, Pop and Jazz.

In 2014, she completed a preparatory course in Jazz singing at the Jugend Musikschule Hamburg. In 2019, Günst graduated with a bachelor's degree in Jazz singing from the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen (NL). Since 2020, she has been pursuing a master's degree in Jazz singing, music pedagogy, and Jazz double bass as a minor at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig.

As a singer, cellist, composer and arranger she works with various bands and projects spanning genres like pop, jazz and contemporary music. Since 2021, Günst has also worked as a theatre musician and musical director in various theatre productions.

In 2020, Sophia Günst founded the duo "Görda" with Annelie Weißel, where she is active as a singer, lyricist, and playing cello, loop station, and keyboards. The duo who won the awards for "Best Songwriting" and "Best Instrumental Performance" at the Bundesfinale Local Heroes 2022, is currently releasing their second EP “Schattengewächs”.
