LOKS.
LOKS is a collaborative work by four composers for four quartets performed at four festivals in four countries.
From the precarity of planting the seed to the abundance of the harvest, the piece draws an arch, a circle (’loks’ in latvian) across the four performances, unfolding over the growing season.
Played separately, each quartet is haunted by the three others. Together, they form a piece for an orchestra of 16 players, present in one and several locations simultaneously.
Each quartet is an interplay between each of the four composers own imagination, as well as that formed in the space in between composers.
